If you haven't seen Wet Leg's KEXP session yet, close whatever you're doing and go watch it. Recorded September 9, 2025, it's four songs from Moisturizer played live in the studio: "catch these fists," "davina mccall," "CPR," and "mangetout." Twenty two minutes that go by way too fast.
What gets me about Wet Leg live is how locked-in this band sounds. Rhian Teasdale and Hester Chambers have always been the center of it, but having Ellis Durand, Henry Holmes, and Joshua Mobaraki as a full-time unit has clearly done something to the chemistry. These songs hit harder in this room than they probably should for a Tuesday afternoon radio taping. "mangetout" especially. That thing builds into something genuinely weird and great and the whole band just rides it out with total confidence.
Moisturizer is a real step up from their debut, which I didn't think I needed to say out loud because their debut was already excellent. But it is. Tighter, weirder in the right places, and somehow both punchier and more personal at the same time. The KEXP session captures exactly why. Go watch it.
